Any ESC/POS thermal printer over Ethernet or Wi-Fi — Epson TM series, Star, and most generic models. The iPad prints straight to them, no server in between.
Take the card on the terminal your bank or processor already gave you, and record the payment against the check with its auth code.
Retail-style barcode scanning for fast item lookup isn’t built yet — it’s on the roadmap, not a current capability. We’d rather say that plainly than pretend it’s already there.

A fanless mini PC, a small battery backup, wired to your router. Every iPad talks to Anchor over your own network; Anchor talks to the cloud. When the internet drops, the whole floor keeps working together through Anchor instead of splitting into isolated tills — and it reconciles with the cloud automatically the moment the connection is back. We install it and manage it; there is nothing for you to run.
