Point of sale for hospitality · iPad

Service that doesn’t stop when the internet does.

Kessl is an iPad point of sale for restaurants, bars, beach clubs and hotels. Every iPad keeps taking orders and payments on its own when the connection drops. Kitchen and bar tickets keep printing. The cloud reconciles the money the moment you’re back.

Where it runs

Three places, one system. Only one of them needs the internet.

On the iPad

The whole POS, on the device.

The menu, modifiers, floor plan, open checks and a payment queue all live on each iPad. It never asks the cloud before taking an order.

  • Orders, tabs and seats
  • Cash and terminal payments recorded offline
  • Syncs the moment it reconnects
On your network

Printers and screens keep firing.

Receipt printers and kitchen or bar screens talk to every iPad over the venue’s own network, wired or Wi-Fi, so tickets print whether or not the internet is up.

  • Kitchen, bar and receipt printers
  • Optional on-site sync server keeps every device in step during an outage
  • Nothing to install in a rack
In the cloud

The system of record for money.

Every payment is reconciled centrally. Reports run across outlets, and the back office works from anywhere with a browser.

  • Menus, prices and staff edited once
  • Room charge, gift cards, house accounts
  • Reports across the whole property
Built for unreliable internet

What a dropped connection looks like from the floor.

A busy evening, three outlets, and the internet goes down for twenty-six minutes. Nobody waits for a spinner, nobody re-keys an order, and nothing is lost.

Connected, three outlets live

Orders flow to the kitchen and bar screens. The cloud keeps every terminal in step, and the manager watches the floor from the web admin.

Nobody on the floor notices

New orders, cash and terminal payments are recorded safely on each iPad. Printers and kitchen screens on the venue network keep firing. Tenders that need a live line, like room charge, are held and say so.

Everything catches up

Queued orders and payments sync in seconds. Receipts, reports and room charges are complete as if nothing happened, and the cloud has the final word on every total.

What’s inside

Everything a busy venue needs, and where each piece lives.

One property, many outlets

The same dish, the right printer, every time.

An item knows whether it is food or drink. Ring it at the pool bar and it fires to the poolside grill; ring the same item in the dining room and it prints on the main line. Routing is set per outlet, not hard-coded on the menu.

Who it’s for

At home anywhere guests are served.

How it compares

Cloud convenience, without the cloud dependency.

Most hospitality POS asks you to choose: a modern cloud system that leans on your internet, or an older on-site system that nobody can reach from home. Kessl was built to take neither trade-off.

Full detail is on the features and hardware pages. The two right-hand columns describe categories, not any one product. If you’re weighing Kessl against a specific system, tell us which and we’ll be straight about where each one is stronger.

Back office

Run the numbers from anywhere.

The web admin is where menus, prices, staff, printers and settings live, and where the day is closed. Managers can open it inside the iPad app too, with their PIN.

Questions

Good to know.

What hardware do I need?
iPads for the floor, and any receipt or kitchen printers you already own on the venue’s network, wired or Wi-Fi. Kitchen screens can be iPads too. Card payments are taken on the terminal your bank or processor already provides and recorded on the check; integrated card readers will follow where a processor supports them.
What actually happens when the internet goes down?
Every iPad keeps working from its own copy of the menu, floor plan and open checks. Orders, cash and terminal payments are recorded on the device and sync automatically when the connection returns. Tenders that need a live line, such as room charge or gift-card balances, wait until you’re back online and the screen says so.
Can guests order or book without staff?
Yes. A QR code on each table opens the menu for ordering, and reservations can be taken from your website with instant or request-to-book confirmation. Everything lands on the same screens your team already uses.
Does it handle more than one currency?
Price in your local currency and take payment in another at live rates. Guests get a dual-currency bill, and every tender is recorded in both for reporting. Room charges are converted to the currency your PMS expects.
How do we get started?
Book a demo below. We set Kessl up with your own menu and outlets so you see it running your service, not a sample one, before you commit to anything.
